Oh No! We posted a video ;)

While I’d like to think I am a pretty good programmer, I’m not very good at video editing.  I did, however, want to throw a quick video together to introduce people to our new YouTube channel, say thank you to everyone who is using our products, and give a little history of how my Vlogger app framework came to be.

If you are a faithful user of our apps, I encourage you to subscribe to our channel.  Much like we update this blog periodically with information regarding upcoming apps, new features, bug reports, etc – we also plan on doing this periodically through the YouTube channel as well.

Don’t worry, we won’t spam your YouTube sub list with countless videos – our intention is only to post new videos when we have something important or beneficial to say – so, please, give it a shot and subscribe to http://www.youtube.com/geekutils.

You can go directly to the video by clicking here.

Thanks!

A quick thank-you.

Tuesday, July 20th, 2010

I just wanted to take a moment to say a quick thanks to everyone who has downloaded and are enjoying our apps. Tonight, GeekUtils again made it into the “What’s Hot” feature section in the App Store in the Social Networking and News categories.  Definitely proof positive that an indie developer can indeed make it in the app store.

I am humbled and so appreciative that you all are enjoying the apps, and very thankful that @phillyd, @charlestrippy, @allispeed and @olgakay have allowed me to work with them to provide official apps for their content streams.  I also have a few more apps to be released very shortly for some other wildly popular vloggers (announcement later) – and I’m simply thrilled that these great content providers are finding value in my work.

Tonight marks a huge milestone in that I have realized that GeekUtils currently has around 150,000 unique users, who have registered around 2.8 million individual sessions since January 17, 2010 when Unofficial iJustine was launched.  This is absolutely huge – it means that since January 17, 2010, on average, a GeekUtils app has been launched every 5.6 seconds worldwide.  I can’t possibly thank you all enough for your downloads and I look forward to continuing this trend, and continuing to release great apps that i know you’ll love.

When I started working on these apps in November of 2009, I hoped, but never imagined that they would be received so well.  So…  Thank You!

Unofficial iJ – Mobile Blog not working?

Thursday, April 15th, 2010

We are aware that the mobile blog view is currently not working in our Unofficial iJ app.  Tonight, iJustine moved everything from tastyblogsnack.com to ijustine.com, so the mobile viewer can’t “see” the blog any longer.  We just prepared and submitted an update to the app store, so hopefully it will be approved and available to you soon.

In the meantime – you can use the full “Web” view located on the “More” tab to see her entire blog so you don’t miss a beat 😉

Gamer TV v1.0 Released to App Store

Tuesday, April 13th, 2010

We are happy to announce that on Monday, Gamer TV was released for sale in the app store.  This first version contains video feeds from over 90 popular gaming video sources to provide over 45,000 videos for the gaming fanatic.  Anything from app reviews to trailers for new games, this new app is sure to keep you entertained.

As with our other apps – each individual “channel” automatically loads all of the latest video from the source the moment it’s touched.  This means that you have access to the videos as soon as each content provider has uploaded them and they are published for viewing!

On top of this, there is a “Search” tab, which searches the entire gaming category on YouTube and returns the results relavent to your keyword from newest to oldest.  No more do you have to fumble with the iPhone’s built-in YouTube player and sift through hundreds of results to find the newest ones – we’ve done it for you.

Additionally, just like all of the other apps based on our Vlogger framework, you have the ability to log in with your YouTube account and rate/comment/subscribe and favorite any content you like so that it will automatically show up in your YouTube account when you return to your computer.

If you are already using one of our apps to read this post, simply navigate to the “More Apps” function and press the Gamer TV link to download.
