Updated apps are coming…

Wednesday, March 17th, 2010

We’ve updated our popular Unofficial iJustine, Unofficial PhillyD, Unofficial AnnoyingOrange, and Unofficial ShaneDawson apps and have submitted those updates for release to the app store.

These exciting new updates use the latest version of our app framework, which adds support to watch, rate, and comment on viewer responses to any of the videos in the app.   You can even subscribe to the channels of those who have posted responses that you like.

This new feature continues on the path of filling out our framework.  This weekend, we are hoping to finish the final details of our Twitter integration so that you can actually respond to messages from your favorite blogger right through the app.  Additionally, support will be added to all “Share” functionality to allow you to share your favorite videos, blog entries, and any other content directly via Twitter.

We hope that you are enjoying the apps and look forward to the continued growth of our product(s) and our fan base.

GeekUtils gets a mention from Phil DeFranco!

Wednesday, March 17th, 2010

Yesterday, I was shocked, amazed, and grateful that Phil DeFranco gave my Unofficial PhillyD app a shout on Twitter.   To all of you who followed his advice and downloaded my app – thank you – and welcome to the club ;).

We gathered just over a thousand new downloads yesterday, and the app has risen from obscurity to #68 in the social networking category of the app store.  Keep the downloads coming, spread the word, and continue to support the DeFranco nation!

As always, if you have any questions, feature suggestions, bug reports, or just want to say Hi – please use the “Contact” Button on the about tab inside the app.  Remember, this contact e-mail comes to the developer, for contacting Phil – try twitter (@phillyd) or one of his public e-mail addresses.

Again – thank you!

Unofficial PhillyD v1.2 released

Wednesday, March 10th, 2010

The latest version of Unofficial PhillyD has been released. This version includes minor bug fixes and also removes the mobile and web tabs from the app now that Phil is no longer hosting a blog at phillyd.tv

If you already have the app, visit the app store to update. If you would like to check it out, visit http://bit.ly/alM2EU

PhillyD.tv isn’t working?

Monday, March 8th, 2010

If you are using our Unofficial Phil DeFranco app, you’ve probably noticed that the “mobile” and “web” tabs are not working like they used to.

Why is this happening?  Well – if you read Phil’s facebook fan page, you’ll note that he has changed the way that phillyd.tv works.  The blog that used to be there has been dismantled, and the site now simply leads you to his YouTube channel.

Because the blog is no longer there, clicking the “Web” tab in our app will simply redirect you to the mobile YouTube page, and the “Mobile” tab (which used to give you a streamlined version of his blog) now only returns an error.

We are working on an updated version of the app to submit this evening to Apple that simply removes these two tabs now that they are no longer a part of Phil’s content stream.   Look for v1.2 of our Unofficial PhillyD app to be available for update later in the week.

In the meantime, simply ignore those two tabs – the rest of the app will continue to function as it always has.
