Updates for BlackBoxTV and PeterChao Official

Thursday, February 3rd, 2011

We’ve got some updates that are in process for you two of our popular applications.

BlackBoxTV has been updated to 1.5 and the update is already available in the app store today.   This update is recommended for all users of BlackBoxTV and includes some small bug fixes and enhancements for the BlackBoxTV store.

PeterChao Official has been updated to 1.1 and the update has been submitted to Apple and will be available soon.  This update adds the PeterChaoTime channel into the app and includes some small bug fixes and performance enhancements to the basic app framework that are being rolled out to all of our apps.

Apple has been very quick lately in approving application updates, so we’re hopeful that PeterChao 1.1 will be released into the app store sometime Super Bowl Weekend.

We hope you enjoy these incremental updates and welcome you to always use the “About” tab inside of any of our apps to contact us to provide feature suggestions, report bugs, or to just say hi 😉

Peter Chao Official Released!

Friday, January 14th, 2011

Thanks to an awesome referral by Charles Trippy, we’re happy to announce that we have partnered with Peter Chao to provide the Official Peter Chao application into the app store!

For those of you who are unfamiliar with Peter, he’s a talented comic that produces hilarious sketch comedy videos and vlogs on YouTube.  He’s had nearly 100 million video views, nearly 18 million channel views, and he has over 570,000 subscribers on his main YouTube channel.

The Official Peter Chao application is available now in the iOS App Store (iPhone/iPod/iPad) and gives you easy and convenient access to:

  • Watch videos on either of Peter’s popular YouTube Channels
  • See his latest tweets on twitter.
  • Check out what’s new on his facebook fan page.
  • See the latest merchandise in both of Peter’s online stores

Also – as with all of our other apps, this new addition includes quick and easy access to our Developer Blog, App Listing, and an “About” tab where you can offer your feedback and suggestions – all three of these awesome features are right on the “More” tab within the app.

To download, simply click or touch here, use the application grid on the right side of our homepage at www.geekutils.com, or use the “More Apps” view in any of our existing apps for a quick and easy way to get directly to the app listing.

Thanks for an amazing 2010!

Sunday, January 2nd, 2011

I just wanted to take a moment to thank everyone who has downloaded our free or paid apps this year.  GeekUtils is still a new and growing company, and you all have helped to get us off to a good start.  We’re now averaging around 60,000 individual application sessions per day – which means one of our apps is launched about every second and a half worldwide.

I would also like to thank our content partners for whom we have “official” apps for giving us the chance to celebrate their branding through our suite of iPhone apps.   So, Charles Trippy and Alli Speed, Phil DeFranco, Tony Valenzuela (BlackBoxTV), OlgaKay, Joe Nation, stirFryTV, Kev Jumba, Mark Watson (SoldierKnowsBest), Mike Tompkins, Benny & Rafi Fine (TheFineBros), Paul (TeamDMG Official), and Peter Chao (app coming soon) – Thank You! It’s been a pleasure and I really appreciate the opportunity to work with you folks by providing your official apps and I hope you enjoy what I’ve provided 😉

Here’s to a great 2010, and an even better 2011.  Please remember that we can’t continue to provide and maintain all of these awesome free apps if our paid apps are not successful.  Please spread the word about AutoTV, GamerTV, EDUTV, and TypeCam – and if you haven’t had a chance to check them out yet – please give them a shot .  These great apps are only 99 cents each – and we think that they’re worth every penny and then some 😉

Please keep in mind that you can follow this blog, and follow all of our latest app releases right within our apps by periodically checking out the “Dev Blog” and “More Apps” tabs found in the “More” section of the main tab bar.
