Twitter views are down…

Friday, November 5th, 2010

The twitter provided widgets that we use in all of our iPhone apps are currently down.  We are aware of this issue and are investigating to see if there is any kind of workaround.

At this point, we do not have an ETA for when they will be back up.  Unfortunately, the problem is originating from either an outage or a change to the widget mechanism on Twitter’s side.  We have contacted twitter support and will hopefully have an update for you soon.

Thank you for your patience.  Please check the developer blog view in any of our apps frequently for updates on resolution of this outage.

Upcoming iPad update fixes YouTube issues.

Monday, November 1st, 2010

We’ve updated our in-house iPad development devices to the iOS 4.2 beta that is distributed to developers prior to the public (for compatibility testing) and we’ve got some great news!

Many of you have reported to us that when running our apps on the iPad, videos only play in portrait mode, and once the video is done – you are unable to exit back to the app without crashing out to the home screen.

This bug was initially reported to us right after the 3.2.x updates to the iPad, and we were able to duplicate the issue.  Unfortunately, there was nothing that we could do about it.  The issue was native to the iPad’s YouTube player when running in iPhone mode.  Unfortunately, because it was a device issue, we were unable to make any corrective changes in our application to resolve this issue.

The great news is that this bug appears to be fixed in iOS 4.2!!!  Once Apple releases this latest new version (rumored to be sometime this month) – all you have to do is update to 4.2 in order to fix this longstanding issue.

We thank you for your patience, and appreciate that you iPad users have stuck with us while this bug was being worked out by the talented minds at Apple.

Push Notification Update…

Thursday, October 21st, 2010

Over the last couple of days, we have been releasing updates to our apps utilizing the Vlogger framework that enable push notifications for new videos.

Properly designed push notification servers are very complex in nature, so, as we mentioned, we are releasing these updates to the app store one at a time so that we can stress test the server we have developed and overt any unforseen problems before they reach you, our valuable users.

We’re happy to report that so far, everything is working exactly as we had planned.  So far we have released Official PhillyD and BlackBoxTV with push notifications enabled.  We will continue to release new updates each day until updates for all of our apps are available in the app store.  We thank you for your patience and hope you are enjoying this new feature!

Push Notifications Are Here…

Tuesday, October 19th, 2010

Over the next several days, you will notice timed updates to all of our apps based on our awesome Vlogger framework.  This update only has one purpose – enabling push notifications for new videos!

We’re very happy to release this service and the app updates and thank everyone for their patience while we have worked hard to implement this functionality.   We know that we’ve been promising it for a while, but we wanted to make sure that we had the simplest, most effective, most reliable and most flexible solution possible.

We will be releasing the apps one at a time over the next few days.  We are doing this to ensure that the push notification server that we have developed is stable, and to prevent mass chaos should something go awry.  Please bare with us and rest assured that push notifications in your favorite vlogger app will be available very soon – be sure to check the app store periodically over the next few days.

TypeCam v1.0 Released

Tuesday, September 28th, 2010

We’re happy to announce the release of our latest app, called TypeCam.  TypeCam is a simple app that lets you stay aware of your surroundings while entering text.  TypeCam does this by allowing you to type text right overtop of the camera view.  Whether you are walking or at a concert – don’t miss out because you were looking down at your phone trying to type a message – Get TypeCam!

TypeCam has been designed to work on any camera-equipped device that is running iOS 3.0 or greater.  TypeCam works great on all iPhones, and the latest versions of the iPod touch which have a built-in camera.

Unlike similar type and walk style applications, TypeCam does not rely on the clipboard to transfer the text to your favorite apps.  The clipboard is an option, but when you are posting to Facebook or Twitter, you can update your status immediately from right inside our app – no need to exit.  TypeCam also works with eMail and, if you are running iOS 4.0 or greater, SMS.  All of this convenient functionality from right inside the app!

To get TypeCam now from your computer, simply click this link.  If you are reading this from inside one of our apps, simply head over to the “More Apps” view to download.

We hope you like it!  If you download and enjoy the app, please don’t forget to rate it in the app store.
