Happy Easter! Education TV on Sale!

Sunday, April 4th, 2010

As an introductory offer, our newest app, called Education TV is on sale for $0.99. That’s 50% off the normal price of $1.99!

What is Education TV? Based upon our wildly popular YouTube framework, Education TV provides easy access to the channels of over 335 colleges and universities from YouTube EDU. Thats over 60,000 videos for less than the cost of your average magazine!!

If you are a current college student, a high school student looking to see what the colleges you are considering attending are up to, or the parent of a high school or college student – this app is perfect for you.

The list of supported universities is periodically (and automatically) updated, and the video listings are always immediately up to date with the latest from each university.

Additionally, and just like our popular Vlogger apps, you can rate/comment/subscribe/favorite your favorite videos right through the app!

We also provide a generic search that provides access to the entire Education category on YouTube – which means that you can use the app for researching universities or educational topics even if they don’t tie directly to one of the 335+ universities on the “Channels” tab.

Check it out… we think you’ll like it ;).

You can go directly to the app in iTunes using the “More Apps” tab from any of our existing apps, or you can go directly to iTunes on your computer by clicking here or visiting http://bit.ly/edutv

YouTube upgrade issues…

Friday, April 2nd, 2010

As you are probably aware, YouTube performed a site-wide upgrade on Wednesday that changed the format (look) of the site.  The buzz around the net from many popular YouTubers is that these upgrades were not just on the surface level.  Many YouTubers are having problems uploading videos, and we’ve noticed small service disruptions and issues within the developer tools that we use to dynamically retrieve video listings in our apps.

Due to these sporadic issues, you may receive errors when fetching video listings, searching, or performing YouTube community features.  Please be patient – our apps are functioning as expected and the errors are indicating problems retrieving data from YouTube – not errors within the actual app itself.  We can assure you that YouTube is aware of any problems, and hopefully they will be resolved very soon.

Additionally, we have seen many reports from YouTube celebs that video upload and processing is taking longer than normal.  Due to this extra processing time, it is likely that there will be a slight delay before videos appear in our apps for playback.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact us using the About tab in any of our apps.
